MEDIchair History
MEDIchair began as a single Home Medical Equipment
(HME) store in Brandon, Manitoba in 1985. By 1988, the first MEDIchair
franchise store opened in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
The company continued to operate as both a supplier of Home Medical
Equipment and as a Franchisor until 1992 when the company's Home
Medical Equipment concept was converted into a retail franchise
company.
MEDIchair has since grown to become an industry leader in the HME
market in Canada, thanks in large part to its unique approach to
the selling process.
MEDIchair recognized two distinct markets in the HME sector - Retail
HME and Rehab HME.
Accordingly, MEDIchair developed educational programs and marketing
systems designed to reach these distinct markets. This strategic
approach has contributed significantly to the success of the MEDIchair
brand - to the point where MEDIchair is now North America's largest
and fastest growing Home Medical Equipment franchise company.
