Offer a higher level of pressure relief than most foam cushions,
but are often heavier and more expensive
Customize positioning through foam wedges and gel sections
(on some products)
Like air floatation cushions, gel cushions are often the choice
for full-time users with limited sensation
Air Floatation
Offer the highest level of pressure relief and are very lightweight
Can offer customization by varying air pressure and distribution,
but are not as effective for positioning as foam or gel products.
Require periodic maintenance and proper set-up is essential
to peak performance
